Description

The D380 is a 380 mm (15″) diameter ESD-safe turntable rated for loads up to 200 lbs (91 kg). The top surface is conductive rubber bonded to a durable plastic disc; the unit sits flat on any workbench at just 12 mm (0.5″) tall and rotates 360 degrees freely on a smooth bearing.

The conductive rubber surface provides continuous ESD protection: surface resistance of 10⁵ Ω or less and resistance to ground of 10⁷ Ω or less, inside the limits ANSI/ESD S20.20 sets for work surfaces. Compatible with assemblies coming off reflow or selective solder that have not fully cooled (rated to 85 °C / 185 °F).

Questions

Does the D380 need power, compressed air, or batteries?

No. The turntable spins on a smooth bearing under board weight alone. Place it on the bench, set your assembly on top, push it to rotate. No power outlet, no air supply, no batteries to replace, no maintenance schedule. The grounding to the bench’s ESD mat happens through normal contact, the conductive rubber surface is continuous with the disc body and the disc body sits flat on your work surface.

Can I put a hot board on it, just out of reflow or selective solder?

Yes, up to 85 °C (185 °F). That’s above the typical hand-touch threshold for cooled-down boards but below sustained reflow / oven temperatures. If your assembly is still hot enough that the operator needs gloves, give it 30–60 seconds to drop into the safe range before placing it on the disc. The conductive rubber surface is durable but not designed for direct in-oven use.

What does ANSI/ESD S20.20 mean for my EPA work area?

ANSI/ESD S20.20 sets the resistance limits for any work surface used inside an ESD Protected Area (EPA). The D380’s conductive rubber top measures 10⁵ Ω or less across the surface and 10⁷ Ω or less to ground, so charge drains off the work surface instead of building up on your assembly. Drop it onto your existing ESD mat, the disc bottom maintains the EPA continuity.

D380 (15″) vs D500 (20″), which one do I pick?

Pick the D380 for benchtop hand soldering, mid-size PCB assembly, and rework where 200 lb capacity is enough, the smaller disc takes less bench real estate and is easier to grab one-handed. Pick the D500 for larger PCB assemblies, mechanical builds with multiple sub-components, or any rework where the load might approach 250 lb. Both share the same surface material, ESD spec, and no-power design, the only differences are disc diameter and load rating.

How heavy can the load be? Will it slow down or stop spinning?

Rated 200 lbs (91 kg). The bearing is sized to spin freely under that load, rotation is smooth and controlled, not free-fall. For loads under 50 lb the turntable is essentially frictionless; for loads near the 200 lb rating it has more controlled resistance, which is what you want during precision rework so the board doesn’t over-rotate when you push it.
