The 300 °C rack for boards to 535 × 460 mm (21.06″ × 18.11″)

The B0109GL HT-300C is the maximum-format sibling of the B0103GL HT-300C and B0106GL HT-300C, same all-aluminum 300 °C qualification, same 7.5 mm (0.295″) wide slot, same gear-track mechanism, same compliance. The only difference is the chassis: 535 × 530 × 569 mm (21.06″ × 20.87″ × 22.40″), with adjustable board width up to 460 mm (18.11″) and max board length to 535 mm (21.06″). Backplanes, motherboards, and oversized industrial PCBs that don’t fit the smaller HT chassis fit here.

5 × interchangeable aluminum side panels per wall, no polymer in the thermal path, so the rack stays dimensionally stable through cycles to 300 °C. Lead-free reflow direct loading, IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033 accelerated bake, conformal-coat post-cure, and aerospace high-heat stress testing all run inside the rack’s thermal envelope.

The aluminum-panel construction across the maximum-format chassis brings the empty weight to 15 kg (vs 8 kg on standard-format HT, and 10.6 kg on large-format HT). Gear track is the standard adjustment mechanism; screw adjustment configuration is also available. Conductive at 10⁴ Ω and RoHS compliant, like the rest of the B0109 chassis family.

IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033: The standard for handling, packing and baking moisture-sensitive devices. A rack rated for the bake temperature lets the boards stay in it through the bake.

Questions

Can metal carriers go straight into this magazine, does anything in the rack shed particles onto the assemblies, and what finish is on the aluminum?

Yes: metal carriers, pallets and fixtures are a routine load for the HT racks. Everything the load touches is aluminum with a clear anodized finish. The conductive PPE panels of the standard gear-track racks are gone from the HT series, so there is no polymer in the load path and nothing that can shed onto an assembly. Anodized on anodized stays clean as well; the pairing that transfers material is anodized on bare metal, and there is no bare metal in the slots. The chassis is conductive, 10⁴ Ω surface resistance, so the carrier and the board on it are grounded through the rack.

How is this different from the smaller HT racks (B0103GL HT, B0106GL HT)?

Same all-aluminum 300 °C build, same 7.5 mm (0.295″) slot, same compliance, on the 535 × 460 mm (21.06″ × 18.11″) chassis. The B0109GL HT-300C uses the maximum-format 535 × 530 × 569 mm (21.06″ × 20.87″ × 22.40″) body, with adjustable width up to 460 mm (18.11″) and max board 535 × 460 mm (21.06″ × 18.11″). Empty weight is 15 kg (vs 8 kg on B0103GL HT and 10.6 kg on B0106GL HT). Pick this rack when your boards exceed the 460 × 330 mm (18.11″ × 12.99″) envelope of the large-format HT; pick a smaller HT when they fit.

What does “all-aluminum” actually change vs the standard 200 °C gear-track racks?

Standard gear-track racks (GN/GM variants) use 5 × Conductive PPE side-panel sections per wall. PPE softens above ~200 °C and starts off-gassing in cure ovens. The HT series swaps every PPE panel for an aluminum panel, same five interchangeable slots per wall, same gear-track mechanism, no polymer in the thermal path. The rack stays dimensionally stable through 300 °C cycles.

Why is the slot 7.5 mm (0.295″) wide instead of 5 mm (0.197″)?

Boards that have just come out of reflow or post-cure are often slightly thicker, warped, or populated with tall components on the bottom side. The 5 mm (0.197″) gear-track slot is fine for raw bare boards, but a 1.6 mm (0.063″) board with 2 mm (0.079″) of solder paste + 1 mm (0.039″) of warp + a populated underside can exceed 5 mm (0.197″). The 7.5 mm (0.295″) HT slot accommodates these without forcing operators to angle boards in.

Will the B0109GL HT-300C drop into my SMT loader / unloader?

The chassis height (569 mm (22.40″)) and 10 mm (0.394″) slot pitch align with the standard SMT loader / unloader interface used by ASM SIPLACE, Yamaha YSM, Panasonic NPM, Juki RS, and most others, but the 535 mm (21.06″) chassis length and 530 mm (20.87″) chassis width are a large footprint, many in-line loaders are not configured for maximum-format racks out of the box. Confirm with your loader / unloader vendor before ordering. Reference offsets A=32, B=39 are unique to the maximum-format HT chassis and differ from B0103GL HT (A=34/B=33) and B0106GL HT (A=34/B=33).

Do I need 300 °C if my bake only runs at 125 °C?

Probably not. For 125 °C accelerated bake or anything below 200 °C on the maximum-format chassis, the B0109GM-200C (200 °C) is a lower-cost option on the same chassis, with the same conductive 10⁴ Ω build. Pick the GL HT-300C when the process actually needs 200–300 °C (lead-free reflow direct loading, conformal-coat post-cure 150–200 °C, aerospace cure, or thermal stress testing).

How much weight can a loaded rack carry?

The load capacity (weight limit) is up to 85 kg (187 lb), spread evenly across the slots. As a check, 50 carrier plates at 1 kg each come to 50 kg, comfortably inside that. The figure is the whole load in the rack, not per slot.

Can I run anodized aluminum carriers or fixtures in this rack?

Yes, and this is the rack for it. There is no polymer in the load path: every side panel is aluminum, clear anodized. An anodized carrier then rides on an anodized panel, hard oxide against hard oxide, instead of anodized against bare metal, which is the pairing that transfers material. Surface resistance stays conductive, 10⁴ Ω.

Is there a 3D model or STEP file for this rack?

Yes, on request. Dimensional drawings and CAD are not posted on the site, so ask through the documentation request page and the team sends the STEP model for this chassis.
