Description
REF 03The RA-18C is a 25-slot conductive polypropylene rack with double-sided slots (boards engaged from both edges, not just one) and integrated carry handles molded into both ends. Each slot is 3 mm wide with a 7.5 mm depth and 15 mm pitch, gripping boards rigidly on two sides for a hold that single-sided racks can’t match.
The two-edge grip matters most for two-side-populated assemblies, heavy-copper boards, and anything that has to be moved across the floor. Boards can’t rock, can’t walk out of the slot mid-transport, and the molded handles let one operator carry a fully loaded rack two-handed across doors, carts, and elevators.
Boards span the 140 mm rack width and can overhang on both sides. The conductive PP material maintains system resistance of 10⁴–10⁶ Ω. Best seller in the slotted-edge series, the rack of choice when transport stability matters more than maximum board face area.

REF 12What does “double-sided” actually mean for the slot?
Standard slotted-edge racks (like the RA-16C and RA-17C) hold each board by one edge, the bottom edge sits in a single slot rail. The RA-18C has two parallel slot rails, so each board engages from both sides simultaneously. The result: a more rigid, more stable hold, especially important for two-side-populated assemblies, heavy-copper boards, or any rack that’s going to be moved across the floor while loaded.
Why is the max board envelope smaller on RA-18C (320 × 180) vs. RA-16C / RA-17C (400 × 220-260)?
The double-sided slot geometry consumes interior real estate that single-sided racks use for board overhang. The 320 × 180 mm envelope is the practical max where the board is still fully captured by both slot rails without binding. If you need a larger board face, the RA-17C handles up to 400 × 220 mm in a single-sided deep slot.
How do the carry handles work?
The handles are molded directly into both ends of the rack, no separate clip-on hardware to break or lose. They’re sized for a single operator’s two-hand grip, even with bulky ESD gloves on. A loaded rack of 25 standard boards weighs roughly 3–5 kg total (rack 0.32 kg + boards), comfortable single-person carry across doors, carts, and elevators.
Will the RA-18C fit my SMT loader / unloader?
The RA-18C is a bench-side / transport rack, not an in-line magazine rack, it’s designed for manual handling, storage, and operator-portable transport. For in-line SMT loader / unloader compatibility, look at the Gear Adjustment or Belt Adjustment magazine racks.
Is the RA-18C ESD-safe for our EPA workstation?
