The D500 is a 500 mm (20″) diameter ESD-safe turntable rated for loads up to 250 lbs (113 kg), sized for larger PCB assemblies (up to 350 × 350 mm) and mechanical builds. The top surface is conductive rubber bonded to a durable plastic disc; the unit sits flat on any workbench at just 15 mm (0.6″) tall and rotates 360 degrees freely on a smooth bearing.

The conductive rubber surface provides continuous ESD protection with a surface resistivity of 5 × 10⁶ Ω and volume resistivity of 1 × 10⁷ Ω, squarely in the dissipative range required by ANSI/ESD S20.20 work areas. Compatible with assemblies coming off reflow or selective solder that have not fully cooled (rated to 85 °C / 185 °F).

No power. No compressed air. No setup. Drop it on the bench and start using it. The 2.88 kg (6.3 lb) unit weight is heavier than the D380, the larger disc plus the higher load capacity demand a more substantial base, which keeps the turntable planted even when the operator pushes hard at the outer edge.

Does the D500 need power, compressed air, or batteries?
No. The turntable spins on a smooth bearing under board weight alone. Place it on the bench, set your assembly on top, push it to rotate. No power outlet, no air supply, no batteries to replace, no maintenance schedule. The grounding to the bench’s ESD mat happens through normal contact, the conductive rubber surface is continuous with the disc body and the disc body sits flat on your work surface.
What’s the largest board the D500 can hold?
The platform handles boards up to 350 × 350 mm (13.8″ × 13.8″) with room to spare on the 500 mm disc. Min board size is 10 × 10 mm, small enough that a single chip on a probing fixture is supported. Boards larger than 350 × 350 mm will overhang the disc; the turntable still spins them, but for stability we recommend keeping the assembly within the platform footprint.
Can I put a hot board on it, just out of reflow or selective solder?
Yes, up to 85 °C (185 °F). That’s above the typical hand-touch threshold for cooled-down boards but below sustained reflow / oven temperatures. If your assembly is still hot enough that the operator needs gloves, give it 30–60 seconds to drop into the safe range before placing it on the disc. The conductive rubber surface is durable but not designed for direct in-oven use.
What does ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliance mean for my EPA work area?
ANSI/ESD S20.20 specifies the surface-resistivity range required for any work surface used inside an ESD Protected Area (EPA). The D500’s 5 × 10⁶ Ω surface resistivity falls squarely in the dissipative band required by the standard, meaning charges drain off the work surface fast enough to prevent damaging discharge into ESD-sensitive components, but slowly enough not to spike from sudden grounding. Drop it onto your existing ESD mat, the disc bottom maintains the EPA continuity.
D500 (20″) vs D380 (15″), which one do I pick?
Pick the D500 for full-size PCB assemblies (up to 350 × 350 mm), mechanical builds with multiple sub-components, or any rework where the load might approach 250 lb. Pick the D380 for benchtop hand soldering, mid-size assemblies, and rework where 200 lb capacity is enough and bench real estate is tighter. Both share the same surface material, ESD spec, and no-power design, the only differences are disc diameter (500 vs 380 mm), profile height (15 vs 12 mm), and load rating.
