Boards Loose in a Tote Are Boards That Get Damaged.

REF 01

Cardboard dividers wear out, foam inserts shed FOD, and bare boards rattling in a tote chip edges and snag components. The Karry-All 35 is a **30-slot open slotted karrier** in conductive PP, drop it into any box, tote, or transport bin and boards stay vertically separated, ESD-grounded through the chassis, and protected from contact damage. The outer container is the enclosure; the karrier is the slot rail.

What the Karry-All 35 actually is

The Karry-All 35 is an ESD conductive PCB carrier, same form as a magazine rack (vertically slotted board rails) but with two key deltas: fixed slots (no adjustment mechanism) and no rear stopper. Boards sit upright in 30 fixed-pitch slots and the karrier drops into any outer box or tote, the outer container is the enclosure. Hence the name: a karrier for boards, designed to be carried inside something else.

Triple use case: (1) slot separator inside a carton, keeping boards vertically aligned and edge-protected without foam or cardboard inserts; (2) transport karrier when slipped into a transit container, with the outer tote providing dust / FOD / impact protection; (3) storage frame at a station for short-term board staging during inspection, QC, or rework.

Single-piece conductive polypropylene (PP) construction. Surface resistance spans the 10⁴–10⁹ Ω band, wider than the magazine-rack 10⁴–10⁶ band, covering both the conductive and dissipative ESD classifications. Not for in-line SMT loaders, baking, or any cycle above 80 °C. For inline SMT integration use a B0103-series magazine rack; for benchtop slotted-edge access use an RA-series transport rack.

Materials: Single-piece conductive polypropylene (PP), open slotted frame

Surface res.: 10⁴ – 10⁹ Ω, spans conductive AND dissipative bands (wider than mag-rack 10⁴–10⁶)

ESD class.: Confirm conductive vs. dissipative classification at quote per your line specification

Thermal range: −10 °C to +80 °C, manual handling and storage envelope only

Capacity: 30 slots · 10 mm pitch · max board 350 × 175 mm · **2 kg empty** · 3.2 mm max board thickness

RoHS: **PASS**, EU Directive (EU) 2015/863. Verified by SGS Report No. NGBEC25007635101 (20 Nov 2025). All 10 restricted substances **Not Detected**, Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr⁶⁺, PBB, PBDE, DEHP, BBP, DBP, DIBP. Same RoHS report as PCBH-C / PCBH-2L-C / RA-series (shared conductive-PP family).

ESD class.: Surface resistance stated as 10⁴–10⁹ Ω, spans both conductive and dissipative bands. Confirm specific classification (conductive vs dissipative) at quote per your line specification.

Best for: Inter-station board transport · slot separator inside totes / cartons · short-term storage at QC / inspection / rework benches · light-duty board organization.

Why buy: Aerospace-grade build, stocked in the USA. The lightest carrier in the catalog (2 kg), drop it into any tote you already use, and your boards stay vertically separated and ESD-grounded without buying a sealed-shell carrier.

Questions engineers ask

REF 12
Is the Karry-All 35 a magazine rack, a slotted-edge rack, or something else?
It’s a **karrier**, a third category. Same form as a magazine rack (vertically slotted board rails) but with two key deltas: **fixed slots (no adjustment mechanism)** and **no rear stopper**. The lack of stopper is the defining physical feature: it means the karrier drops into an outer box or tote for transport, with the outer container providing the dust / FOD / impact enclosure. For in-line SMT loaders use a [magazine rack](pcb-b0103gn-80c-shop-standalone-rev2.html); for benchtop slotted-edge access use an [RA-series transport rack](pcb-ra-16c-shop-standalone-rev2.html).
Is it “fully enclosed” or open?
**Open**. The Karry-All 35 has open ends and no rear stopper, it is NOT a sealed shell, lid, or closed shipping container. The karrier is designed to be placed inside any outer box or tote you already use, and the outer container provides the dust / FOD / impact protection. If you need a fully enclosed sealed shell, use a different category of carrier.
What does the 10⁴–10⁹ Ω surface resistance mean?
Per ESD Association classification, surface resistance from **10⁴–10⁶ Ω is conductive** and **10⁶–10⁹ Ω is dissipative**. The Karry-All 35’s conductive-PP material spans both bands. For most ESD-protected workstations either band is acceptable. If your line specification requires a specific classification (some spec strictly conductive for high-current paths, others strictly dissipative for slow-discharge zones), **confirm the actual measured value at quote time**, we publish the spanned range, not a single point measurement.
Can I run this through a bake oven or an SMT loader?
**No** on both. The Karry-All 35 is rated −10 °C to +80 °C for manual handling and storage only, the conductive PP softens above 80 °C and is not qualified for any bake or cure cycle. For bake-suitable use, switch to a [B0103GM-200C (200 °C)](pcb-b0103gm-200c-shop-standalone-rev2.html) magazine rack. The Karry-All 35 also has no SMT loader interface, the chassis is sized for benchtop / tote-transport use, not the standardized 563/569 mm magazine-rack height that loaders index against.
What chemicals can the conductive PP handle?
Resistant to **non-oxidizing acids, alkalis, and most organic solvents** typically used in board cleaning. **Not suitable** for halogenated hydrocarbons (e.g. methylene chloride), aromatic solvents (toluene, xylene), or strong oxidizing acids (concentrated nitric, hot concentrated sulfuric). For aggressive solvent cleaning, consult on alternative carrier materials before specifying.
What ships in the box?
One Karry-All 35 conductive-PP karrier, sold individually. **No back stopper, no carrying handles, no adjustment hardware**, the karrier is a single conductive-PP molded part. Volume tier above 10 units ships in a bulk carton (580 × 410 × 280 mm at 21 kg gross). Stocked at the US warehouse, most orders ship the same week. No assembly required.
