Bench Real Estate Is Limited. The Holder Isn’t.

REF 01

An 18″ rack won’t fit next to a soldering station or microscope without crowding tools, fixtures, and the operator’s workspace. The PCBH-C drops 25 boards into a 10.4″ × 8.1″ benchtop footprint, angled vertical slots so boards slide in and out cleanly without lifting the holder.

Description

REF 03

The PCBH-C is a 25-slot conductive polypropylene board holder built for benchtop use. Each slot is 3 mm wide with a 5 mm depth and a tight 6 mm pitch, holding boards upright at a wide-angle vertical for clean one-hand insertion and removal during active work.

The compact 265 × 205 mm footprint fits next to a soldering iron, hot-air station, or microscope without taking over the bench. The 95 mm tall body provides structural support so the holder won’t tip when picked up loaded, and boards can overhang on both sides of the 205 mm rack width if needed.

Conductive PP material at 10⁴–10⁹ Ω, spanning both the conductive and dissipative ESD bands, keeps boards protected through hand soldering, inspection, and rework. Not for in-line SMT automation, the tight pitch and benchtop form are optimized for operator-facing work.

Questions engineers ask

REF 12
What’s the difference between a PCB “holder” and a PCB “rack”?
A rack (RA series, magazine racks) is a horizontal storage / transport container designed for moving boards between stations or feeding them into in-line SMT equipment. A holder (PCBH series) is a vertical-angled benchtop organizer designed to sit next to an operator and present boards upright for active hand soldering, inspection, or rework. Holders aren’t for transport, they live on the bench.
What does the 6 mm pitch buy me vs. a wider-pitch rack?
Slot pitch is the centerline-to-centerline distance between adjacent boards. Standard slotted-edge racks run 12–16 mm pitch; the PCBH-C runs 6 mm, the tightest in the entire pcbracks catalog. For 25-board capacity, that means the holder fits in a 265 mm wide footprint vs. 400+ mm for the equivalent rack. Trade-off: very little air clearance between boards, so populated boards with tall components on the top edge should be cross-checked against neighbor clearance before loading.
Why is the ESD range 10⁴–10⁹ Ω instead of 10⁴–10⁶ like the RA series?
The PCBH-C uses a Conductive PP formulation that spans both the conductive (10⁴–10⁶ Ω) and dissipative (10⁶–10⁹ Ω) bands per ESD Association classification. Either band is appropriate for an EPA-controlled workstation; the dissipative band is preferred when slower charge decay is desired (e.g. for ESD-sensitive Class 2 components). The RA series is calibrated tighter to the conductive band only. If your ESD program specifies a particular range, check with sales for a fit confirmation.
Will the PCBH-C fit my SMT loader / unloader?
No. The PCBH-C is a benchtop holder, not an in-line magazine rack. The compact form, vertical-angled slot geometry, and tight pitch are optimized for operator-facing hand work, not pickup-machine interfaces. For in-line SMT loader / unloader compatibility, look at the Gear Adjustment or Belt Adjustment magazine racks (B0103 / B0106 / B0108 / B0109 chassis with 563 mm height + 10 mm slot pitch).
I have a wider workstation, should I get the PCBH-C or the PCBH-2L-C?
The PCBH-2L-C is the wider sibling: 355 × 270 mm footprint, same 25-slot capacity, same vertical-angle design. Pick the PCBH-C if your bench is space-constrained or you handle smaller boards (max 265 × 205 mm). Pick the PCBH-2L-C if you have larger boards (up to 355 × 270 mm) or your bench has the room and you want the larger handling area.
What ships in the box?
Standard packaging is a pack of 10 holders. Bulk pricing kicks in above 37 units (carton 68 × 48 × 48 cm at 12 kg gross weight). Stocked at the US warehouse, most orders ship the same week.
